xunify provides a graphical user interface for running Unify programs.
xunify requires that the XUNIFY_ROOT environment variable be set to the directory in which xunify is installed.
Upon startup xunify starts pvm if a pvmd is not already running and adds hosts in $HOME/.xunify_hosts to the pvm. Additional hosts may be added to the pvm using the Other Hosts selection in the Hosts... menu.
The SPAWN selection in the Tasks... menu can be used to start a Unify program. Unify requires that the program be launched from the machine on which the pvm is started. To force xunify to launch the unify application on the correct machine, click on the Host button under the Where label. Type the name of the host on which pvm was launched (or xunify if pvm was not manually started before xunify) in the Host text field.
To start the program type the complete command line used to invoke the program in the Command: text field and click on the Start button to start the program.
A running program can be stopped by clicking on the Reset PVM selection in the Reset... menu.
To quit xunify and pvm, click on the Halt button. To quit xunify without halting pvm, click on the Quit button.
